This page is about a Mom who likes to think she is closer to the Hot side than the alternative. Here is my story of the daily journey of a less than rich, less than skinny and more than happy lady :D

Halloween Toes!

My little guy made this for Mommy today... How stinkin' cute?!

Closet Revamp

One shower curtain rod and two packs of plastic rings- $11

10 minutes in the closet with no vents- 1 lb. of sweat equity

Getting my purses organized and off the floor- priceless

Ikea Cabinet Door Overhaul

I will post the step by step later but I could not wait to get this up. I think it turned out awesome!

A friend and I were in Ikea pushing through the clearance section. We happened upon cabinet doors for $1. Neither of us needed to redo our cabinets but for $1 how could we pass it up?! A little spray paint, some sanding, hot glue, twine and clothespins is all it took to create this cute board!

Paper Lantern Up Cycle

I was inspired by this blog: DIY Sculptural Paper Orb Lights

I will update with my step by step instructions soon!

Equipment:

Paint the yellow lantern.

 Allow the paint to dry.
Place lantern on bowl to start working.

I used these awesome cupcake liners and flipped them inside out so the pretty side was showing.

Starting at the top of the lantern I used my hot glue gun to stick the cupcake liners down. Try to space them out so the tops touch but not so close that they are scrunched together.

Next take the mini cupcake liners, dab a little hot glue, and stick them in the middle of the bigger cupcake liners.

Finish the whole ball.
I used an IKEA hanging light kit inside.
Ta Da!

Pumpkin Muffins

PUMPKIN MUFFINS

So easy!

My sister did this and I copied her, but she copied from my Aunt, who got her idea here:

All you need:
15 oz can of pumpkin
Moist Supreme box cake mix- either Golden Butter or Spice cake
Muffin pan
Baking cups

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the boxed cake mix and the pumpkin together.

Scoop the mixture into muffin pan/baking cups.

Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Top with powdered sugar or cream cheese. Enjoy!

Little Girl Birthdays

Since I have a son I am a sucker for anything with ruffles. That's how it works right? Cooper's lady friends are turning one so I jumped at the chance to indulge in the girl's section at Target. I found these super cute after pool cover up things (because really, what 1 year old is thinking of covering up?). Then I decided to stick some sparkles on it... and so you have it- Laverne and Shirley turn 1!
